Short Biography


  • Dipankar Kumar received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering from the University of Tsukuba, Japan in March 2019 under the supervision of Professor Satoshi TAKWEWAKA. Prior to receiving this degree, he received 4-years integrated B. Sc. (Hons.) degree in Mathematics from the University of Rajshahi, Rajshahi 6205, Bangladesh in 2007 and M. Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics from the same University in 2008. Presently he is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Gopalganj 8100, Bangladesh. He has published more than 60 quality research papers in peer-reviewed international journals with a high impact factor. He has made significant and outstanding contributions to various activities related to research work. Notably, he has been recognized among the top 2% of scientists globally in the field of Mathematical Physics and Astronomy by Elsevier and Stanford University, USA, for four consecutive years (2021–2024). Additionally, he serves as a reviewer and referee for numerous prestigious international journals from publishers like Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, World Scientific Publishing, IOP Science, Nature Publishing Group, AIMS, and MDPI. His research interests span a wide range of topics, including Shoreline Detection using Remote Sensing Imagery, Coastal Morphological Analysis, Numerical Modeling of Coastal Environments, Image Processing, Solitons and Fractal Theory of Nonlinear PDEs, Oceanic Wave Propagation, and Bifurcation and Chaotic Analysis of Dynamical Systems.
