Short Biography

• Sukanta Biswas (https://orcid.org/ 0000-0003-3155-1932) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of English, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Gopalganj, Bangladesh.
  He obtained his undergraduate degree and graduate degree majoring in English Literature from University of Dhaka. Currently, he is working as a Ph.D research fellow at the Institute of Bangladesh Studies, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
  He served as Provost, Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Hall (2015-2016), as Cahir/ Head, Department of English (2016-2017), which he joined as a lecturer in 2011, and previously taught in the Department of English, Pabna Cadet College, Pabna.
  His research interests navigate around Resistance Literature, South Asian literature in English, American literature, Comparative Literature, and Cultural studies. He has published articles in national and international journals including Praxis, Jagannath University Journal of Arts, International Journal of Education and others.
  Other than scholarly work in literature, he is committed to creative writing especially poetry and essays mostly in Bangla. He is also passionately involved with writing for the children. His poems, rhymes, travelogues and essays have been published in the literary and little magazines like Kali O Kalam (edited by Abul Hasnat), Dead Metaphor (edited by Sabiha Huq), Durba(edited by Gazi Latif), Mukteswari (edited by Anupam Hera Mondal), Dhansiri(edited by Muhammad Muhasin), Ikri Mikri(edited by Mahbubl Haq), Choitonyer Aanginay(edited by Ataur Rahman) etc. He is the author of one poetry collection titled Shishirer Koekti Rong (2017) and a collection of rhymes for children titled Bhuter Raja King Bhut (2023).
