First and foremost, I want to congratulate you all on taking the first step toward receiving an education for a career in law and justice. I extend a warm welcome to everyone of you and wish you the best of luck in your studies.
Most significantly, via rigorous classroom education and in-depth practical experiences, we are educating and preparing our students for the practice of law in an ever-changing legal profession. Since its inception, we have strived to provide high-quality, well-rounded, and modern legal education.
Our goal is to teach young aspiring lawyers how to avoid rote learning, weigh legal issues on the scales of logic and conscience, learn modern interpretation skills, evaluate and balance conflicting interests honestly and diligently, protect the rule of law and human rights, and defend vulnerable individuals.
Finally, the Faculty of Law - which I am honored to represent - contributes to the advancement of law's role in societal development through its rigorous legal education and by preparing its students to meet the challenges of the third millennium in a world that does not tolerate stagnation or exclusion.
